Making a First of a Kind Event

Opportunity: When our client’s CEO asked for a VR experience at the company’s next press event, their marketing team called Plumbago. The event goals were thrillingly complex: create a captivating live event; leverage VR technology to give the live audience a hands-on, immersive experience; and broadcast the event to a global audience in a meaningful way.

Solution: We designed and built an ambitious, first-of-its-kind event that, at various points in time, was simultaneously live, virtual, and immersive. We orchestrated event flow in anticipation of 250 live audience members. We produced, managed, and streamed the event. And the challenging part: We led the technical execution of VR experiences that audience members got to experience through VR headsets live. It was an event filled with oohs and ahhs.

When it wrapped, TechCrunch posted a little ditty that said, “A high water mark for what we will expect to see in all press conferences of the future.” Three cheers to that!
